This is a fascinating 16 sided house completed in 1796 for two spinster cousins, Jane and Mary Parminter. After a tour of Europe they were inspired by the design of San Vitale's church in Ravenna. The house also contains a special collection of articles they brought back with them. There is a feather frieze, and a gallery encrusted with shells, but these now have to be seen on closed circuit television in order to avoid damage to them.
