A Museum with a diverted stream supplying water power to a display of blacksmith's foundry and mining equipment and processes of the 19th century. (National Trust). One of the working exhibits is a Ram Pump feeding a fish tank. It cannot be given a more powerful task for fear of disturbing the neighbourhood. Open (approx) from April to November from 11 am to 5.30 but not Tuesdays.

This National Trust House and Garden is often mentioned by guests as being worth a visit. It is an elegant Edwardian House which was owned by a scientist, one Otto Overbeck The gardens have spectacular views over the Salcombe Estuary and have many rare plants, trees and shrubs. Gardens are open all year daily. The Museum from April to the end July.

An award-winning visitor centre made from the historic port. There are tramway rides to old mine workings and costumes to try. The museum displays the period when copper, and subsequently arsenic, were extracted and dispatched via the river. In addition to conventional exhibits and information about the working conditions there is a short underground section reproducing these conditions. There is also the old docking area at the riverside.
